Mayabeque, Cuba_ Researchers from the National Center for Agricultural Health (CENSA) together with producers and workers linked to the Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS) EfraÃn Mayor participated in a workshop as part of the second stage corresponding to the project on biological control.Â
The work session was an appropriate space to present the project that aims to highlight the use of biological controls as alternatives for the management of pests with a view to eliminating the irrational use of chemical products that undermine conservation of the environment.
At the meeting, Dr. in Sciences Margarita Ceballos gave a lecture with the topic Indiscriminate Use of Chemical Pesticides and presentations on studies applied on the farm and the results of the survey conducted at the beginning of the project were also carried out.
The workshop culminated in a fruitful exchange between researchers from CENSA and the group of producers and workers of the CCS, where the main concerns of the farmers regarding their crops and the future of the habitat on their farms were discussed.
