Mayabeque, Cuba_ The preparation of the people in the safeguarding of life and socio-economic resources before the scourge of meteorological phenomena, centers the activities of the theoretical day of the Popular Exercise Meteor 2018, in Mayabeque.

The study of the information systems of the society in the different phases of the Civil Defense, mobilizes the representatives of the Provincial Defense Council (CDP).

The president of the CDP in the demarcation, Juan Miguel García Díaz, highlighted the importance of the press and the media in climatological situations to community service.

The day also includes the holding of conferences on the water situation of the dams, and the hygienic and meteorological condition of the province.

The theoretical activities consolidate the realization of practical actions with the population on Sunday.

This exercise allows increasing and checking the preparation, planning and organization of Civil Defense tasks. It allows the country being in better conditions to face dangers and minimize both human and economic damages, derived from extreme weather events or not, such as hurricanes, earthquakes, intense rains, droughts, sea penetrations, fires, toxic substances escapes, epidemics , pests, diseases in crops or others.
