Mayabeque, Cuba_ In the last seven years, self-employment has become a form of non-state employment, providing benefits to Mayabeque's economy. 

Updated figures from the Direction of Labor and Social Assistance of the territory highlight that more than 13 thousand people exercise this activity that has become an important source of employment and production of goods and services that increases each year the income to the state budget and is no less significant its contribution to the resuscitation of the services, highlighting the gastronomic in cafeterias, paladares, kiosks and other points of sale.

Extension of the schedules, variety of the offers and quality in the elaboration and presentation of the services, together with the excellence in the treatment, distinguish the majority of the units that work under this modality.

Self-employment increase its space at the social level in Mayabeque and is strengthened by its economic impact, it also has more defenders, although still the attention to the sector must be improved taking into account its strategic mission in the conceptualization of the Cuban economic model.

Many young graduates of the universities and Polytechnic Institutes are currently linked to non-state employment and engage in attractive activities such as photography, beauty centers and handicrafts, just to mention a few examples.

This creates job opportunities and profits that then benefit the equitable distribution of the country's wealth by paying taxes.
