Mayabeque, Cuba_ The Eighth Scientific Conference on Mental Health in Mayabeque was an enriching meeting between specialists in this branch of medicine and professionals related to that specialty.
Clinicians, pediatricians and geneticists, present at the meeting, expressed their experiences on addictions, suicidal behavior and autism.
MSc. Marta Alba Pérez, secretary of the Cuban Society of Psychiatry in Mayabeque, the participants analyzed the link between different specialties for the comprehensive treatment of people.
"This meeting is an important step, an exchange of criteria and opinions very useful for our performance and to future plans”, Perez said.
"In Mayabeque we guarantee the training of mental health personnel. The meetings are provincial, but also territorially professionals meet to discuss the fundamental problems on the health situation,” she said.
The doctor highlighted the role of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in conducting courses, diploma courses and various teaching strategies that contribute to the training of professionals.
