Mayabeque, Cuba_ The Boris Luis Santa Coloma Base Business Unit in the municipality of Madruga increased this year the commercialization of compost, an organic fertilizer that contributes to soil conservation, for the benefit of agriculture.

The product is obtained by treating the cachaza. From January to May of this calendar the entity sold about 400 tons to credit and service and agricultural production cooperatives in the territory and the province of Matanzas.

The number is much higher than in previous years, because of its effectiveness, this fertilizer has greater demand among agricultural production units because its use contributes to raising the yield of the fields.

The plant works in the diversification of its productions, in response to the call of the national sugar group ASCUBA, to improve economic efficiency. In addition, they commercialize alcohol and other derivatives of the grass.

Despite the serious weather difficulties, the workers showed their delivery and executed the plan to more than 97 percent and now plot strategies for the next campaign.
