At Plaza América Convention Center, the first keynote address was given by the President of the History Academy, Doctor in Science Eduardo Torres Cuevas, who spoke on History and Memory in the historical present.
The also director of the National Library of Cuba, said we must defend what we are now more than ever and the media has a high responsibility in that.
What have we done with history in recent times?, Torres Cueva asked and argued: "We have defended the bibliographic production and in the promotion of the theme, it is important to rescue the most recent history, the one that many of us are still writing, a reality that forces to make several consultations in search of the historical truth ".
Also in the morning session, the director of Yansa Comunicación from México, Sonia González, presented the theme of The Inflexibility in the Digital Memory, the importance of preserving the files as a mean of protecting the historical memory.
