Mayabeque, Cuba_ The journalist Andy Duardo Martín, from Radio Mayabeque, received the Orlando Castellanos Special Award 2018, granted by Radio Habana Cuba in the context of the III International Convention on Radio and Television that takes place in the Cuban resort of Varadero.
The jury, chaired by the journalist Pedro Martínez Pírez and integrated by the deputy directors of the station Pedro Manuel Otero Cabañas and Dignora Ledesma Ramos, granted the stimulus to the program entitled Luchar, siempre luchar (Fight, always Fight).
According to Radio Florida, when evaluating the radial delivery, the jury highlighted the excellent performance that meets the requirements established in the guidelines set this year that recall aspects of the life and work of José Ramón Fernández, Hero of the Republic of Cuba.
This edition of the contest had as special attraction the delivery of a canvas of the portrait that the Ecuadorian painter Oswaldo Guayasamín made to José Ramón Fernández on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Cuban victory at Playa Girón.
Alfonso Noya and Guillermo Pavón, president and vice president, respectively, of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television were present at the award ceremony.
