III International Seminar on Agricultural Health to be Held in Cuba

Mayabeque, Cuba_ The National Center for Agricultural Health (CENSA) convened the III International Seminar on Agricultural Health, SISA 2019, at a press conference that took place in the 1930 room of the National Hotel, in Havana.

The event will take place between May 6 and 10 at the Hotel Meliá Marina in Varadero’s resort, Matanzas, with the central theme "Agricultural Sciences for Health". This third edition will be dedicated especially to the 50th Anniversary of the foundation of CENSA.

The objective is to discuss strategies and results of inter sectorial and multidisciplinary collaboration in confronting the problems that affect the health of plants, animals, people and the ecosystem in general, from communities to larger scales of intervention; with the participation of researchers, professors, specialists, students, decision makers, businessmen and producers from different sectors, disciplines and countries.

SISA 2019 will be a magnificent opportunity for academic, scientific and technical exchange, through the presentation and discussion of the most up-to-date information on, diagnosis and surveillance of diseases and pests in the agricultural sector, pest management, prevention and control of diseases in agricultural health, food safety and security with a chain approach and risk reduction and disaster management in the agricultural sector.

Contributions related to the main topics such as: Diagnosis and epidemiology, Biodiversity, Transboundary, emerging and reemerging pests and diseases, Invasive species, Modeling and simulation of pests and diseases, Intersectoriality in the prevention and control of zoonoses, Antimicrobial resistance , among other, will be accepted.

During the Seminar there will be meetings, workshops, symposiums, panels, lectures, round tables, technical visits and other meetings such as the 59th Meeting of the American Society of Phytopathology Caribbean Division (APS-CD), The III Workshop "The agricultural sector in the confrontation to the disasters and the climatic change "and Therapy with Surfactant Pulmonar: Surfacen, 25 years saving lives

Associated to the Event an Expositive Fair will be held that will show the technological advances in the different themes.
