Mayabeque, Cuba_ The biopharmaceutical and health family in Cuba recognizes the good results of Surfacen, a product that decreases infant mortality, created 25 years ago by specialists from the National Center for Agricultural Health (CENSA), of Mayabeque, Radio Reloj  publishes.
The Doctor in Sciences Elaine Diaz, Director of Production of the entity, said that the drug is recommended for replacement therapy in the conditions of dysfunction of the Surfactant Pulmonary System as it is the Newborn Respiratory Distress Syndrome.
The Surfacen decreases the surface tension of the alveoli and the partial pressure of the oxygen needed in artificial respiration; it also increases the arterial oxygen pressure, and contributes to the elimination of the hyaline membrane.

Surfacén, a product of the National Center for Agricultural Health, to address Respiratory Distress Syndrome of the newborn, is in full use by the hospital network in the country, said Dr. Eliane DÃaz, Principal Investigator of that scientific center, located in Mayabeque.
