Mayabeque, Cuba_, 14 mayabequenses will travel up to the Colombian city of Barranquilla as part of the Cuban delegation to the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games, to be held between July 19 and August 3.

The delegation consists of 6 athletes, the same number of technicians and specialists, one commissioner and another as medical personnel.

The municipality of Batabanó provides the highest number of athletes with 2, Ailama Cesé Montalvo, in women's volleyball and Greisys Lázara Roble Acebedo, in Athletics. San Nicolás is represented by the judoka Anailis Dorvigny Hernández and Bejucal by Jennifer de la Caridad Martínez Bullían, member of the selection of female jocky.

The list of competitors is closed by wrestler Lianna de la Caridad Montero Herrera and Jaruco’s Yaritza de la Caridad Martínez Valera, in athletics.

Yoani Giniebra Junco, of San Nicolás, in weightlifting and the güinero Leonel Álvarez Díaz, in female cycling will travel as coaches. Lourdes Pérez Pérez, in volleyball, Benito Rodríguez Santos in Table Tennis, Nelson García Fernández, in swimming, belonging to San José de las Lajas and Jorge Miguel Nieblas Rodríguez from Güines, in baseball will participate as referees.

The group also includes Pablo Castillo Díaz as medical staff and Rafael Manso Reyes, Judo Commissioner.

From June 27 to August 4, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution will recognize the athletes and their families in the neighborhoods. They will also be aware of the results achieved by the athletes from the youngest province in the country in the version 23 of the oldest regional games around the world.
