Mayabeque, Cuba_ The International Mangrove Day will be held in Batabanó, with the already traditional Festival, workshops, talks and the awarding of the Cuidemos el manglar contest.

On July 26, Day of the National Rebellion, acquires particular importance for the inhabitants of that coastal municipality, is another opportunity to promote the care of this tropical ecosystem.

According to the Director of Science, Technology and the Environment, Eleine Quiñones Echevarría, among the activities of the festival, they will give a workshop aimed at improving the knowledge and action of the inhabitants closest to the Mayabeque and Artemisa coastal areas.

The festival for the Mangrove Day will be on the 28th and the occasion will serve to reward the winners. This will be a call to work to guarantee the future and for this purpose it is needed the cooperation of all.
