Mayabeque, Cuba_ With the aim of being present into the dispute for the qualification places, the preparation of the players called by the provincial basketball commission with a view to the National Ascent Tournament began on October 18.
According to the Mayabeque newspaper, the pre-selection has 45 days to exercise, at Aldo Caballero Sports Complex, in San Nicolás.
The short training time hit directly in the performance of the team in previous editions, because the athletes achieve the maximum level at the end of the championship, when there is no possibility of qualifying to the Superior League.
However, the provincial commissioner feels optimistic due to the potential of the youth and the results achieved last season, the best in six years.
The National Ascent Tournament is divided into three zones of the country: West, Center and East. Pinar del RÃo, Artemisa, Mayabeque, Metropolitanos, Capitalinos and Matanzas, will face each other in Vueltabajo.
Each team will face their rivals twice and have two break dates. As a novelty the specialty of three by three will be included for the first time. The team should include four athletes on his staff that will represent the province.
