Mayabeque, Cuba__ Mayabeque increases the volumes of food obtained from the countryside to supply the markets of the Cuban capital and this territory, as well as providing food, vegetables and grains for the social programs of the province.

According to the director of agriculture, Juan Carlos Estévez Borges, bean and rice crops stand out among the best results.

"The production of various crops, mainly grains, we have above the plan 4 thousand 222 tons in the total levels”, Estévez Borges said.

"We can mention that we have an over-compliance in the real plan of 3,932 tons of beans and 731 tons of rice," the executive added.

In the current year the demarcation extends the area for increasing the planting of crops. "To date we had a plan of 21 thousand 434.3 hectares and today we have 22 thousand 102.9”, he said.
