Mayabeque, Cuba_ Havana’s Convention Center hosts the VI International Congress of Tropical Animal Production until November 2. The event held on Wednesday the second day under the slogan "For the resilience of livestock systems."

In several work commissions, 10 subjects are valued indistinctly, among them: Pastures, forages and other plants of interest for livestock breeding, Animal genetic resources improvement and conservation, Management, reproduction and feeding of monogastric species, Bioinformatics, biostatistics and socioeconomics.
The Organizing Committee is chaired by Dr. José Andrés Díaz Untoria, member of the Institute of Animal Science (ICA) located in San José de las Lajas. It is made up of prestigious professionals from the Cuban Association of Animal Production (ACPA), the Ministry of Agriculture (MINAG), the Livestock Business Group (GEGAN) and other scientific entities.
The Business Round will be held on November 1, organized by the Organizing Committee, under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba and the Office of the Food Fund of the United Nations (FAO) based in Havana.
The purpose is to bring the Research Centers, Universities, Entrepreneurs and Financiers together in a multiple space for the presentation of portfolios of projects, products, services, financing and collaboration options.
After the culmination of the event, the postgraduate courses will be opened from November 5 to 7 at the ICA. Dr. Danilo A. Pezo of the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center CATIE, Costa Rica, will develop the theme "Sustainable Livestock Low in Greenhouse Gas Emissions".
Another proposal is "Supplementation and strategic confinement in pastoral livestock systems specialized in meat production. Perspectives for the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean", by Drs. Álvaro Simeone and Virginia Beretta, from the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of the Republic of Uruguay.
