Mayabeque, Cuba_ The García Llanes’ family, from Finca La Jutía in Melena del Sur, stands out among the best milk producers in Mayabeque, with the delivery of 500 liters per day destined for the Dairy Company of the capital.

The Canticos, as they are known in that locality, were the first to incorporate the technology of artificial breeding, which led to raise the delivery levels of the demanded food.

According to the director of the Base Business Unit, Specialized Technical Services in Veterinary and Reproduction, Yunieski Roque García, they started with 15 animals and at present they already has 80.

The peasant Yoan García Llanes, a member of the aforementioned family, commented that among the benefits of artificial breeding is the recovery of the milk that the calf used and now goes to the industry.

This is one of the farms where genetic improvement is enhanced through artificial insemination with the Creole Siboney breed, they have around 115 producing cows and some of them give about 22 liters of milk per day.
