On November 18, 1994, the Cuban Society for the Promotion of Renewable Sources of Energy and Environmental Respect (Cubasolar) was founded.
This organization pays attention to the use of solar energy in all its manifestations: biomass, biogas and hydropower.
The objective is to promote these energy sources in the solution of the economic and social needs of the country.
