Mayabeque, Cuba_ Today, December 3, it is celebrated in the capital of Mayabeque, as in all Cuba, the International Day of People with Disabilities, an event that became official in 1992.

On this date many activities are carried out to raise awareness in the community with the right of these citizens to a full and healthy life, as well as to promote their quality of life through inclusion in all the spheres of political, social, economic and cultural development.

This event in Mayabeque has the purpose of raising consciousness about the advantages derived from the integration of the blind, deaf, limited physical-motor, or others with multiple difficulties, in a world that cannot exclude them or violate their privileges.

In this demarcation, the efforts are combined in the activities carried out in favor of the participation of people with some type of disability in social programs.

These groups, from the Cuban Association of Physical-Motor Limits (ACLIFIM), of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ANSOC), as well as the Blind and Visually Impaired (ANCI), stand out for their results in cultural and sports projects. (IVP)
