Mayabeque, Cuba_ The president of Cuba, Miguel DÃaz-Canel, led today a meeting in which they analyzed the results of the productive scientific pole of Mayabeque, Artemisa and Havana in 2018, as well as their projections for 2019.
According to CubaSÃ, the president called for strengthening the link between science and the different agencies of the government.
According to DÃaz-Canel, one of the pillars on which the country's authorities must support the solution of problems is science, above all to seek innovation.
He added that in the first government visits made this year to the provinces, the direct link of the central government agencies with universities and research centers was analyzed.
Among the topics discussed at the meeting were nano sciences, precision agriculture and personalized medicine. The Cuban brain mapping project was also presented.
Today in Cuba they carry out relevant research on the brain and work on nine products to diagnose Alzheimer's disease and another eight to treat it.
In addition, the Island exhibits important results in the fight against several neurodegenerative diseases and collaborates with countries such as China and Canada in the search for more effective ways to treat these illnesses.
He also works to implement the results of these investigations in the primary health system.
