Mayabeque, Cuba_ The third festival of rural traditions Punto y más 2016 will take place from May 20 to 22 at the El Rodeo fairgrounds in San José de las Lajas.

More than 120 poets of this demarcation, Sancti Spiritus and some invited countries will defend tunes, free verse, written and illustrated tenths among other genres of the Cuban country music.

In the cultural program of the day there are included children's competitions, musical accompaniment, theoretical meetings, selection of Mayabeque’s flower and agricultural, food, craft and scientific products exhibition fairs.

Lazaro Palenzuela Campos, director of the Decima’s house of Mayabeque, said that for the first time the event will have the participation of Colombia, Panama and Mexico to exchange experiences about the different ways to improvise in each country.

Other novelty for this peasant traditions day will be the presentation of the book The Golden Age of Cuban repentismo, an anthology of poets of the Island’s repentistas published in Colombia.

The event will feature the participation of personalities of the Mexican culture as Anasarina Panafox Mendez, a researcher and professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

This time as a side event it will be held the meeting Las dos orillas, among Cuban poets living abroad and in the youngest province of the country.
