Mayabeque, Cuba: Workers and sports glories today held an act of remembrance of the Martyrs of Barbados, on the 43rd anniversary of sabotage of the Cubana de Aviacion plane.

The event, took place at Carlos Baliño Sports Complez, in Güines, and was chaired by members of the Municipal Bureau of the Party, executives and other municipal officials.

According to information from the communicator in the Sports Department, Carlos Acosta, the appointment allowed to evoke the horrendous fact, which truncated the life of the Cuban delegation that returned to Cuba from Barbados, after having won the gold medals of the Central American Competition of Fencing.

This crime is one of the most brutal pages in the history of the Island, 73 people aboard the DC-8 aircraft were killed during the flight, caused by Cuban-born terrorists Luis Posada Carriles and Orlando Bosch Ávila, as well as its material authors, Venezuelans Freddy Lugo and Hernán Ricardo.
