Mayabeque, Cuba: Today, when 148 years of the execution of the eight young medical students are completed, the alleged exemption of the Spanish government against the insurrectionary development on the Island to unleash the terror and thus demonstrate the extent of the extremes that could reach an agonizing system.

The new generations of Cuban doctors honor the independence feeling of the massacred in that horrendous event and recall as every year the historical tragedy.

Both the abominable crime and the inconceivable judicial process that gave way to the event and led to one of the most painful events in history, unleashed in Cubans a conviction of the need to seek at all costs the sovereignty of their land, the one that before their lack deprived them of all justice and defense before the "strongest".

A feeling of patriotism grew even more in this generation of Cubans who did not rest until they saw their homeland free of slander and abominable deeds like those of that November 27.

Currently, many of our young people who have come to train as professionals in the health sector maintain eternal fidelity to their homeland, they are not negotiable in the face of the most extreme adversities and this is a conviction that has been formed since the beginning of the Cuban nationality process.

Precisely, the murder of the eight young people of medicine marked a milestone in Cuban history that contributed not to form irrational hatred towards the enemy that attacks and destroys us but to create our own convictions, our feeling of protection against what we belongs and above all to defend ourselves against injustice and the violation of our rights.
