Mayabeque, Cuba_ The biomass banks, a technology designed by experts from the Institute of Animal Science (ICA by its Spanish initials) is applied with broad impact in the Regional Livestock Union of Central Mexico.

Over 80 hectares planted with Cuban grass CT 115 feed three million cattle in Campeche, Vera Cruz, and other states to increase pregnant cows, as well as the number of animals per hectare and milk.

According to Dr. Ramon Omar Martinez Zubiaur, about 23 thousand Mexican farmers feed their animals with fodder obtained at ICA, a leading scientific center in the generation, development and transfer of the most profitable technologies in the field of tropical animal production.

Martinez Zubiaur added that the implementation of the knowledge of specialists of the island in Mexico contributes to the technical, economic and environmental sustainability of production chains and progress of the territory where it is implemented.

The Cuban grass CT 115 also provides food security to make the most of fodder and other natural resources.
