Mayabeque, Cuba_ The first provincial meeting of commercial technics Mayabeque 2016 took place at the fairgrounds of San Jose de las Lajas.

Sponsored by the Trade, Gastronomy and the Services Enterprise of the territory, the participants competed in cocktail preparation and bar, cuisine and saloon, beauty services and commercial stores.

According to Yanislay Jiménez Pérez, communication and marketing agent of the trade, gastronomy and the services company, the contest began in the base, and the best exponents were chosen to participate in the provincial event.

After a long competition day among specialists of the 11 municipalities belonging to the sector, the Culinary Associations Federation of the Republic of Cuba in Mayabeque and the Provincial Trade School announced the winners of the contest.

Vladimir Ortega Vega, from San Jose de las Lajas, was the winner in the Cooking test, with the plate Fish mass in orange sauce, in commercial stores, the complex Gran Vía, from Güines achieved the first place, while in the category of Saloon the winner was Omar Alejandro Remedios, of the restaurant Vita Nuova.

In the category of Bar, the prize went to Luis Miguel Silveira, worker of the House of the Rum Havana Club, of the provincial capital. The main award was for El Chino restaurant, and the best food processor La Quebrada del Yuro, both from San Jose de las Lajas.

Damisleisy Guinarte Morales, organizer of the trade technics’ contest evalued it as a positive exchange of the gastronomic new tendencies that showed the quality of the workers of the sector in the province to the public.

The event also held a big fair with the participation of the best units of the sector in the territory, where also agricultural products were marketed.
