Mayabeque, Cuba_ The response to the simulator dynamics of a real event, kept active the forces mobilized in Quivicán during the first stage of the strategic exercise Bastion 2016 that takes place throughout the country.

Iván Herrera Herrera, president of the Municipal Defense Council, is in charge of the direction of these activities in the territory, initiated yesterday after the speech of the president of the National Defense Council, Raul Castro Ruz President of the Councils of State and Minister of the Republic of Cuba.

The aim here is to update and exercise the leaders and command bodies to carry out the actions foreseen in the defensive plans of the nation.

Part of this effort could be seen in decision-making in real events, for example, the search for solutions by the social economic group, in the case of a community without the traditional supply of drinking water, in the public transport that presents a difficult situation in this locality as well as other facts that coexists in the territory.

This way are strengthened the forces, another purposes of the exercise that takes place from the base.

The actions of the different groups continue now with the achievement of the complete combative disposition for the defense in the fight against a supposed armed insurgency in a scene of unconventional war where the necessary measures are taken to strengthen the existent military invulnerability.

Iván Herrera said that conditions are being prepared to carry out this Saturday and Sunday the national defense days. On Sunday, a group of combatants of the clandestine fight of the territory will be awarded as one of the activities prior to the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the landing of the Granma Yacht.
