Mayabeque, Cuba__ The current levels of sowing and harvesting achieved by the agriculture in this territory make it possible to increase the supplies to markets and sales points in Havana, Mayabeque newspaper reports.
This could ve known during a meeting presided over by Mercedes López Acea and Juan Miguel GarcÃa DÃaz, first party secretaries in the provinces of La Habana and Mayabeque, respectively, with executives of the sector and the ANAP.
The member of the Political Bureau and vice-president of the Council of State exchanged with presidents of cooperatives that supply the concentrators markets and sale points of the capital and informed on the measures oriented by the country so that the producers will have on time the necessary package to avoid the loss in the field of the products harvested.
Garcia DÃaz, also member of the Central Committee of the Party, emphasized the importance of ensuring the correct rotation of these resources, decisive when gathering and marketing the products and insisted in the maximum efficiency of the transportation.
The supply to the capital is mainly in the hands of the companies of Quivicán, Batabanó, Melena del Sur, Güines and Nueva Paz, as well as more than 30 agricultural production cooperatives (CPA) and credit and services units (CCS) that today have better resources to carry out their task.
Héctor Giniebra Junco, director of the Agricultural and Forest Business Group (GEAF in Spanish), informed the commitment of the territory to plant in the current cold season 1900 hectares of potato, for which the required technological package is available.
The planting of the tuber will involve eight companies and a total of 49 productive forms among UBPC, CPA, CCS and state farms with experience in such a demanding crop.
