Mayabeque, Cuba_ The workforce from Liliana Dimitrova,Horticultural Research Institute Quivicán keeps a close link between with the farmers to carry out its mission to provide the scientific basis for systems protected horticultural crops branch, as well as in the production of fibers and flowers.
Alicia de la Caridad Fernandez Miranda, director of the center, explain that validating the species and technologies developed by specialists in productive entities of Mayabeque, Artemisa, Pinar del Rio and Havana, is an efficient way to move from the laboratory to the field, the processes.
Besides they offer training courses related with several branches, such as the cultivation of flowers, in units from Batabanó, Quivicán and nearby provinces that request their services.
Fernández Miranda spoke about the good results achieved with the pepper, in Cayo Piedra, as well as the tomato for the industry in the municipality.
Another action to implement the findings are the field days, moment in which at a demonstration area, inside or outside the research campus, they show different plantations and exchanged on its planting and handling, which promotes the enrichment of knowledge of the participants.
The data suggest that the preparations in 2015 included 217 persons, trained by some thirty specialists in response to the demands of the productive chains of vegetables, flowers and seasoning plants.
