Mayabeque, Cuba__ The work staff of Capitán San Luis Tobacco Factory in Quivicán achieved during 2016 more than 941,600 cigars for a 117 per cent, in that parameter aimed for the export. In the current year they expect to obtain higher yields taking into account the planting of the solanaceous in Pinar del Río and hence the quality of the raw material used.

Carlos García, director of the entity, reaffirmed that it took a lot of effort to achieve the over-performance, which exceeds the 2 million pesos, including work overtime, in a year where the weather conditions affected the raw material.

The cigars have a high preference in many countries, an opportunity that provides Cuba with a market that at the same time guarantees income to the national economy.

The Fonseca and Juan López lines are among those obtained in that entity, made up of 102 workers, who made possible efficiency indicators above what was planned.

"From the salary point of view, a good stipend is perceived here, because the payment system is conditioned to the productive capacity, which we can have in our efficiency", Carlos García pointed out.

Visiting the center you can smell the aroma of one of the main exportable items of the country, the skill of those who work there weaves the history of everyday life.

The most productive worker at the factory, Yecsander García, who has been working for three years as a tobacco grower, advises the young people a practice that he develops daily "to have interest and to work well and to the maximum”.
