Mayabeque, Cuba__ The municipality of Quivicán, like the rest of the country, will carry out the National Exercise against the drug scourge from February 20 to 23 during which the methodological and training system for teachers and other workers will be verified, as well as the preventive work In the institutions of the Ministry of Education.

Maria Antonia Padrón, deputy director of education in the territory, said that they will begin with a special morning in the nine high schools of the territory, where they will reflect on the use of alcohol and cigar through different activities.

The program includes, among other actions, a workshop on the use of some medications, signs of the use of some substances, how to include the topic in the class, the effects of consumption, as well as training for student promoters, that are more than 60 in the locality.

Prior to this national day, they are carrying out comprehensive interventions in the municipality with debates about drug prevention and confrontation, such as those carried out at Pablo Noriega's Secondary School and the Nelson Acosta Mixed Center.

Likewise, in this program previous to the national exercise, the schools of family education is another way to pay attention to the people, with a total of 13 in several educational establishments, with the subject of addictions.

The fight against drugs is a worrying issue at the international level today.
