Mayabeque, Cuba_ Students from the eleven municipalities of the country's youngest province are participating today in the 19th edition of the contest Who Reads More Knows more, taking place at Víctor Mestre Sardiñas elementary school in San José de las Lajas, Radio Camoa website publishes.

"The contest, of annual character, is being attended by students from fourth to twelve grade belonging to the professional and special technical education, with the aim of including this practice as an indispensable element in the cognitive development of students of this type of educational facilities," said Alfredo Castillo, methodologist of school libraries in the demarcation.

The participants discuss papers on one or several works by authors from the locality where they live or from the country, which stimulate the creative and intellectual work of local writers, in addition to being a tribute to the intellectuals of the field.

Who Reads More Knows more is a meeting to exchange knowledge, encourage the habit of reading and ratify the appointment of José Martí when he said: "To read is to grow."

This competition is held on the occasion of the 26th edition of the International Book Fair, in San José de las Lajas, from March 29 to April 2.
