The provincial act to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the founding of Patria newspaper by José Martí will start at ten o'clock in the theater of the Provincial Administration Council (CAP).
According to the website www.cubaperiodistas.cu, the celebration will award the highest recognition conferred by the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC), the Felix Elmuza Distinction, to professionals of the word with 15 or more years of work Uninterrupted with outstanding results.
The prizes of the Juan Candelario Bacallao Provincial Journalism Contest will be delivered as part of the activities for the Cuban Press Day.
Some 110 works competed for the lauro in the different modalities. Radio and television delegations were the most represented, accumulating more than half of the total work.
