Mayabeque, Cuba_ The high levels of humidity caused by the frequent rains in Mayabeque make it difficult to prepare the soils during the spring season, the provincial newspaper reported.

According to Carlos Suárez, head of the Department of Various Crops in the Agricultural and Forestry Business Group, they have created the conditions to recover about 900 hectares before the end of the period in August and meet the program.

In the demarcation they introduced a new technology to increase the number of plants per area, the yields and to use the lands in other lines of interest.

During the spring planting the fundamental crops are sweet potatoes, corn, cucumber and pumpkin, the latter with good results.
