Mayabeque, Cuba_ Corporación D, a documentary by the young director José Ángel Dieppa Brito of Telemayabeque, was one of the finalists of the 2017 ComKids-PrixJeunesse Iberoamericano Festival, to be held from August 14 to 19 this year in Brazil, Radio Camoa reports.
The audiovisual proposal competes with others from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico, in the category of non-fiction programs for children aged 7 to 11 years, chosen by a prestigious international jury among the 168 productions registered in the Eighth edition of the contest.
"This material tells the story of a group of children who decided to make films and founded a small film production company titled The Corporation D. Four years later they explain how the production was carried out and evaluated their works. Motives, achievements and dreams are presented in a genuine testimony of friendship and ingenuity," José Ángel Dieppa Brito explained.
The director of The Corporation D, is the scriptwriter and director of the children's program Double Clic of the television station of his province, currently in transmission by the national television and worthy of mention in the direction of Non-Fiction spaces in the Contest Caracol 2016 and of the prizes in the category of children's programs of the editions of the Provincial Festival of the Radio and the Television in Mayabeque, corresponding to 2016 and 2017, respectively.
In this event, besisdes the documentary of Dieppa Brito, Cuba managed to place another production within the nominations of the category of Non-Fiction, but for spectators between 12 and 15 years of age. It is the N3P children's news from Islavisión by the director Francisco Ferrer, a work distinguished for the simplicity of its aesthetic conception and the ability to communicate with the audience.
The ComKids-Prix JeunesseIberoamericano Festival is a celebration of quality audiovisual creations for children and adolescents in Brazil, the Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries. An event where Cuba exposes its audiovisual work for children and youth from singular productions born in different parts of its geography.
