Mayabeque, Cuba_ Farmers in Batabanó guarantee a wide range of food and vegetables for the people’s feed during the end of the year, Radio Rebelde reports. 

Michel Pérez, director of the Municipal Agriculture Company, explained that the producers intensify the attentions to new crops and others slaughtered by the winds of Hurricane Irma.

"Among the sowings we have sweet potatoes with good quality, we planted it before the cyclone to harvest it in the months of December, January and February, the cassava was a little affected, but taking into account the area sown, there are guarantee, and we establish staggered plantations of cucumber , sweet potatoes and squash, " Michel said.

The harvests in Batabanó, benefit the inhabitants of Mayabeque and Havana.

Potato, tomato and bean crops are also included in the agri-food program for the final stage of 2017.
