Mayabeque, Cuba_ With the slogan "CENSA: 50 Years at the Service of Animal, Plant and Human Health", the workers of the National Center for Agricultural Health, CENSA, located in San José de las Lajas, celebrate the creation of the institution half a century ago. 

Up to March 2019 will take place the program of activities that concludes with the Third International Seminar on Agricultural Health (SISA), considered the distinguished research event of this scientific center.

During the period of celebration, the collective of workers will carry out other actions, among them, the "One Health" Workshop on Ecosystems and Plant Health, the book on the history of that center, culinary meetings, press conferences on products elaborated by its researchers, such as: SURFACEN, STABILAK, others related to Biological Controls, and a contest of original photos of the foundation of CENSA in greeting to the anniversary of July 26.

On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the institution, that family of men and women of science carry out activities of painting, beautification and maintenance, condition the dining room of the workers, establish the perimeter fence in external areas, repair the central theater and the biological control plant.

The National Center for Agricultural Health has a high level of professionals, more than 60 percent of them are Doctors in Science with excellent research results that makes them worthy of a collaborating entity of the International Organization of Animal Health (OIE) in the reduction of disaster risk and the OIE Reference Laboratory for the diagnosis of mycoplasmosis.

This house of high scientific studies was founded on January 14, 1969, the date on which our Commander in Chief Fidel Castro asked fifth-year students of medicine, the need to strengthen attention to diagnosis and prevention in veterinary health.
