Mayabeque, Cuba_ Members of the Provincial Direction of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA in Spanish), carry out a wide action plan in salute of the World’s Environment Day.

The activities began on May 17, under the slogan The Efforts of Today are the Guarantee of the Future.

Ivan Martínez Bordón, head of the environment department in Mayabeque explained the First Scientific Meeting of Environmental Education and Sustainable Development took place that as part of the activities for the day.

Due to its scientific results, Mayabeque was selected to exhibit its achievements at CITMA’s stand in Expocuba fairgrounds, transitory exposition opened to the public until next August.

The CITMA department carries out activities in all the municipalities of the territory to highlight and stimulate the outstanding persons in function of the environmental education.

The day will conclude on June 21st, Forest Workers’ Day, to stand out the work of the demarcation in recovering the woods, flora and fauna.
