Mayabeque, Cuba_ Guines’ chess players Rachel García and María Carla won two bronze medals in the International Chess Tournament José Raúl Capablanca in Memoriam, in the school category. 

In the fight, Rachel García, from Antonio Briones Montoto school, accumulated four and a half points, in the under-12 category, and María Carla, from Manuel Ascunce school, got four units, in the sub-8 year group.

Outstanding were Alain David, Marco Ginebra and the girl of only seven years old, Lorena Sardiñas, and David García from José Martí school, all from Güines.

For the municipality of Bejucal highlighted Ray Yunior, Darío García and Sebastián Gil.

Yeny Sánchez in the feminine branch and Henry Soto, Lemay Vega, Holman Hernandez and Alejandro García in the masculine, participated i the open group.

In that group, Henry Soto result outstanding, with six units, and Lemay Vega, with five and a half points.

The American Grandmaster Samuel Shankland closed with victory and a record of points his brilliant performance in the Elite Group of the Capablanca, celebrated at Habana Libre Hotel.

With this average Shankland surpasses the Ukrainian GM Vassily Ivanchuk, that in two opportunities had won the contest with seven points and also the Chinese Yu Yancyi.
