Mayabeque, Cuba_ The province of Mayabeque will host the Andrés Clemente Vázquez In Memoriam Tournament, scheduled for these days in San José de las Lajas.

At the end of the event, the 16th edition of the International Chess Tournament of the University of Computer Sciences of Havana, UCI will begin, which will take place from the first to the 12th of October at the headquarters of this center of higher studies.

The contest will have three closed groups called Elite, Premier One and Premier Two, as well as an Open tournament that could involve more than fifty chess players

To intervene in the main events, the organizers require foreign players to have more than 2000 Elo points and Cubans no less than 2,400 or hold Grand Master or International Master Titles.

In the open all foreigners who want to participate can register while Cubans have as a mandatory requirement to have in their endorsement more than 2 300 Elo units or international titles.
