Mayabeque, Cuba_ Mayabeque’s squad ranked fourth in the National Championship for Men's Wrestling by Teams, held this week in the Yara room of Sancti Spíritus, with the participation from all the provinces.

Despite decreasing a step from the previous year, the result deserves an excellent qualification, if we take into account that our team is the only one totally composed by young athletes and competed in only nine of the ten divisions; despite them it remained among the Big Four.

His coach and head of delegation Yuniel Leal Ramírez, said that of 53 combats carried out, they won 48 and only suffered five defeats, for an excellent efficiency of 92 percent.

In their first presentations they defeated successively Pinar del Río (7-3), Sancti Spíritus (6-4) and with the same score the strong squad of Camagüey.

In their confrontation with Santiago de Cuba they equaled four, but the Indomitable with athletes in all divisions reached two victories without sweating and dominated the match six to four.

In the farewell day, the team suffered the unexpected loss of the hitherto unbeatable güinero Yosenqui Castañeda Cárdenas (97), who had to rejoin the Active Military Service; nevertheless they overwhelmed Villa Clara (8-2).

For the third place they competed with Ciego de Ávila whom they surpassed 5-3, but they added victories without fighting in 97 and 125 kilograms and won the match and a place on the podium. By provinces, Havana dominated escorted by Santiago de Cuba, Ciego de Ávila and Mayabeque.

In the individual order shine San Nicolás Yackson Allesta Heredia (57 kilograms), Brayan Blen García (65) and Reinaldo Rodríguez Luzardo (79) as well as Güines Yosenqui Castañeda Cárdenas (97), all unbeatable in their battles.
