Mayabeque, Cuba: The batabanoense Osvel David Caballero, of the 56 kilograms, will participate in the Czech contest to be held from May 20 to 26, as a test of what will happen at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Osvel, in 2018, became the first boxing monarch in his division and best athlete of Mayabeque.

He signed the title of the 57th edition of the Playa Girón National Tournament. In that competition he won his four matches, including the one against the fierce left-hander from Santiago, Frank Zaldívar, by a four-to-one vote.

That result deserved his inclusion in the team Domadores, who attended China for the final poster of the World League, where he contributed to conquest the seat of honor with his victory.

He is a fighter in full rise, with his discipline and technique he managed to be included among the best in his division, so he is a strong candidate to join a team for upcoming international events.

Next to Osvel will be: Yosbany Veitía, Andy Cruz, Ronniel Iglesias, Arlen López, Julio Cesar La Cruz, Erislandy Savón and Dainier Peró, as the main boxers. (LHS)
