Mayabeque, Cuba: The girl Lorena Acosta Saldiña, of Güines and Osiel Alonso Orta, of Nueva Paz, occupied the second position in the Chess Tournament Capablanca in Memorial, held at the Habana Libre hotel.
In that category also participated Kendry Orta Torres, from Güines too, who added a point and a half.
In the 9-10 category, Ernesto Cabrejas achieved three units while Andrés Ravelo and María Carla Báez, add points, all of them from Güines.
In the group of sub 12 stood out Alain Daniel Laborí, and David García, of Güines, with four and a half points, David Vega, Marco Ginebra, with three and a half, Annelí and Leonel Isaac with three units.
The competition in the sub 15 years was stronger with 74 participants from different provinces and countries.
In that category, the Mayabequenses Ronny Manuel, of Melena del Sur, added five points, Sebastián Gil and Darío Rodríguez achieved four units, Ray Junior of Quivicán, Greter Caballero, of Melena del Sur, with three and a half points, Rachel García with three, Carlos Junior Riverón and Javier Áreas with two and a half, both from Güines.
Twenty two schoolchildren from Mayabeque participated in the tournament, 15 children from Güines, the municipalities of Melena del Sur, Quivicán, Nueva Paz, San José de las Lajas, and Bejucal each brought two players in the International Tournament Capablanca In Memoriam.
