Mayabeque, Cuba_ Mayabeque’s chess player, Henry Soto Hernandez, will participate in Guillermito GarcÃa in Memoriam International Movement that begins this Saturday at the Santa Clara’s Palace of Chess.
The International Master of Guines, with an Elo of 2441 units, the second largest force in the competition, will play in the Premier group.
The competition will have three tournaments with ten contestants, with a round robin contest and an open of half hundred by the Swiss system.
The Elite tournament will give standard of Grand Master and in the other two the participants will opt for International Master Category.
Besides Soto, the Premier is composed by his counterparts Diasmany Otero from Villa Clara, Pedro Jimenez from Sancti Spiritus and Carlos Albornoz from Camagüey with 2460 points, the highest in the payroll and the Master Fide, Richard Garcia, from Villa Clara.
The Mexicans Luis Carlos Torres and Isaac Garcia, Oscar Savarse from Venezuela and the Colombian Martin Martinez are also to participate.
Premier One group has an Elo average of 2392 units, so the chess from Mayabeque shall obtain five points to keep his coefficient.
