Mayabeque, Cuba: The National Youth Games started in several provinces of the country, among the disciplines in contest are beach and indoor volleyball, as well as taekwondo.

Mayabeque is present with the beach volleyball teams of both sexes. The female duo is formed by Evelin Amaro Puerto, from San José de las Lajas and Amaranta López González, from Melena del Sur.

Amaro Puerto and López González are students of the Sport Initiation School (EIDE) Antonio Ñico Jiménez, where they train under the sponsorship of Professor Jorge Luís Ramírez. Last year they placed in eighth position, place they aspire to improve.

The male binomial is integrated by Yordani Carlos Rodríguez Pozo (San José de las Lajas), who is part of the national youth preselection, and Daylen Perez Beltrán, student of the provincial EIDE. The trainer of both is Professor Rafaél Alman Samuell.

According to the sports deputy director of the EIDE of Mayabeque, Juan José Hernández, on Thursday, June 27, the taekwondo team of both sexes will travel to Santiago de Cuba.
