Mayabeque Cuba_ Mayabeque 's team ranked second in the National Table Tennis Tournament, for youth in both sexes, held during five days at Guines’ Latin American Social Club.
On the last day, the squad of Matanzas surpassed a disadvantage against the host team and won the honor seat with 23 medals and an average of 290 points. The youngest province followed them with 18 medals and 270 units above the 16 medals achieved by the Vueltabajo’s athletes with 250 points.
The local representation won two titles, one in double mixed with Germaris Aguero and Raonel Labrador in the 15 years sub-category and other by Carlos Raul Hernandez in the under 18 men's singles.
The silver medals among teenagers were won by female team (Germaris, Jennifer Vigil and Dianni Medina); the double of the same sex with Jennifer Germaris, besides the male duet composed by Labrador and Jandry Tejada. The other sub-title was won in men's singles by Labrador.
The result was completed with the sub title of Germaris in women's singles in the young females, who also ended with abronze medal in women's singles and the men's team composed by Raonel, Tejada and Carlos Brayan Valdes all under 15.
All members of Mayabeque’s team got to the podium, but Germaris Aguero stood up among them with five medals, one gold, two silver and as many of bronze. Raonel Labrador, with a title, two silvers and a bronze, as well as Carlos Raul Hernandez with a gold medal also brighten.
Daniela Fonseca, from Matanzas, winner of four titles in two categories, won the distinction of Most Outstanding Athlete among the 59 tennis players from 12 provinces participated in the sport event.
