Mayabeque, Cuba_ Two chess players from the province participate from this Wednesday until July 10 in the National Chess Championship, for youth in both sexes, taking place in San Nicolas.

Alejandro Garcia from San José de las Lajas and Eduardo Gonzalez, from Guines are representing the young demarcation in this chess contest, attended by athletes from all over the country.

Our province is not represented in the female category, as the National Commission did not grant a place to the host territory.

Garcia and Gonzalez appear among the best 20 in the national ranking of the junior category. Both expect a honorable performance and to be at the vanguard of the men's national chess competition.
