Mayabeque, Cuba_ The delegation of Mayabeque in weightlifting to the 52 National School Games, exceeded the performance of last year and equaled the best historic result in that sport in the 15-16 years category.
The weight-lifting athletes of this demarcation show their strength in national lids of all categories.
This time they achieved the second place by provinces and equaled the best record in the five years period and left behind the third step of 2015.
Yoani Giniebra Junco, provincial commissioner of the specialty, reported that in Holguin the team won 17 medals, five golden, five silvered and seven of bronze. The top three provinces were Granma, Holguin and Mayabeque.
The disciples from coach Florencio Lopez Rodriguez hoarded nine medals, four gold, two silver and three bronze, valid for the third place.
Applause for the Jaruqueña Naveys Gonzalez Gala, winner of the gold medal in the three tests of the 58 kilograms division and the maximum assessment of 100 points. These results awarded her the nomination of Outstanding Athlete of the female tournament.

The men's squad from coach Yuliet González Castillo anchored in the fifth place with a balance of eight awards, including one title, three silver and four bronze.
Meanwhile Serguei Aillón Martinez’s youth squad, consisting of four girls and six boys, ends this Friday their national competitions in Holguin. They are expected to return also included in the outposts.
