Mayabeque, Cuba_ The young quivicanero Antuan Obregón Medina, reached the silver medal in the Caribbean Cup of Football, sub 17, and with that he got the ticket to the final of CONCACAF in the world qualifying phase.
Obregón Medina manifested that he began practicing football when he was eight years old, in his native town, La Salud, with Professor Reivys Rodríguez.
He added that he played as midfield until he reached the sub category 12, and the he began to play as a goalkeeper in the team of Quivican with the trainer Wilder Díaz. In this stage he integrated the team of Mayabeque to the national championship and after that he entered to first category team of the municipality.
Obregón has the possibility of joining the province’s team in 2015 to the National Championship of the first division, held on January 2016, in Granma.
The quivicanero played as regular with only 15 years and later in June, he was included to the national selection in its sub category 17 and he participated in the first phase of the preliminary round of the World Cup in India 2017.
His team finished in the first place of that championship, which allowed their participation in the final of the Caribbean in Trinidad and Tobago, where they only lost in the final before Haiti.
According to Antuan his main aspirations are to participate in the national championship of ascent in January and to help the team of Mayabeque to its classification to the maximum division.
With the national selection sub 17 in April, he will fight to be included in the World cup.
The young footballer's priority is to finish his studies and train hard to stay in the different categories until reaching the biggest selection.
