Mayabeque, Cuba__The chess players of this province keep a constant and productive participation in contests of different levels and categories inside and outside the national territory.

Since last Monday GM Leinier Domínguez, maximum exponent of the Cuban chess, competes in the XXXII European Championship of Clubs in Novi Sad, Serbia, defending the staff of the Russian club of Saint Petersburg.

The previous week, Yeny Sánchez Ones from Güines and Carlos Javier Castro Bello from Santa Cruz del Norte returned from Mexico after taking part in the V International Tournament ¨Jugando en Concreto¨, organized in the city of Villa Hermosa , State of Tabasco.

Castro Bello won the seat of honor of the Under-14 group, with a good record of six points out of seven. He won six games and suffered a setback. One of its victims was Jose Antonio Hernandez, Mexican monarch of that category.

Meanwhile, the only International Master of Mayabeque joined the elite group, along with numerous contestants from various nations holding the highest title of the Fide, including Cubans Yuniesky Quesada and Lázaro Bruzón, who occupied the second and third places matched with Six and a half units, behind the Dutchman Sergei Tiviakov who totaled seven.

With four and a half units in nine rounds, the 18-year-old güinera became the best placed among all the ladies of that group and in increase her ELO coefficient with ten points.

The Technical Meeting will be held next Thursday and the actions will begin a day later in both sexes looking for of two places for the final of the Cuban Championship, in hands of the Illustrious Son of Güines.
