Mayabeque, Cuba_ Lianna de la Caridad Montero from Güines, member of the National Women's Wrestling Team, will participate in the First Grand Prix of Azerbaijan to be held from December 24th through 26th in the city of Baku.
The four-time national queen in the elite category and three junior-level monarch will make her European debut in the 55-kilogram division, three fewer than at the Pan American Championships and the Pre-Olympic Tournament, both held this year in the US city of Frisco where she won the Bronze medals.
Baku’s tournament will bring together many of the best gladiators in the universe in both sexes, including the Rio de Janeiro’s Olympic medalists and from the continental championships in America, Europe and Asia.
It will be a difficult test for Lianna and her three teammates, Jacqueline Stornell who will defend the 60 kilograms, Katherine Videaux in 65 and Yudaris Sánchez the 71.
The main virtues of the 18 years old young mayabequense are her physical strength, explosiveness and tackle, her favorite weapon, technique that she likes to apply in a lethal manner to her opponents.
The Antillean delegation will leave for Azerbaijan this Sunday where the men of Greco-Roman style will fight the 24th, the girls debute the next day and the male participants in the free style modality will finish their performance on November 26th.
