Mayabeque, Cuba__ A team integrated by 10 weight lifting athletes from both sex will represent Mayabeque, in the XXVI edition of the José Iván Ladron de Guevara in Memoriam Cup, to begin on Friday 29th in the city of Matanzas and will run until Sunday 31st.

According to Sergei Aillón Martinez, coach of the women, the team comprises five athletes of each sex who intend to repeat the collective victory of the last edition.

"Besides competing for the seat of honor, the most important thing for the group is to meet the predictions and the planned percentages of effectiveness," the specialist said.

The women have their headquarters in the specialty gym, located at the Heroes de Mayabeque Stadium in Guines.

The women's team is made up by Ailén Caro Navarro, Daily Montes de Oca Gaínza and Yudisleidys Izquierdo Torres in the 44, 63 and 69 kilograms respectively, all from Jaruco; in the 53 kilograms Yadisleidys Mendez Francia, from Bejucal and Greidys de la Caridad Muñoz Pérez, in the 63 kg from Madruga.

Midiel Hernandez Mora and Yasniel Acosta Pino, both from Guines in the 50 and 62 kilograms respectively, José Darian Castro Tamayo in 56 kilograms, Lazaro Hernandez Chacon in the 85 kg from Bejucal and Yosvani Olivera Rodriguez 94 kilograms from San José de las Lajas integrate the male team

Returning from Matanzas these athletes will continue the preparation with an eye put into possible similar events, which will take place in March in Santiago de Cuba and Pinar del Río.
