Mayabeque, Cuba_ Eleven athletes from Mayabeque of the sport king conquered their tickets to attend the 53rd edition of the School Games of High Performance, to be inaugurated next Tuesday, July 6, in Sancti SpÃritus.
The event took place at the facilities of the Julito DÃaz de Artemisa Higher School of Advanced Training, with the participation of both sexes’ athletes in the categories 12-13 and 14-15 years old, representing Pinar del RÃo, Havana, Mayabeque and the host territory.
According to the report of José Alberto Portela, the most outstanding judge of the event, from the eleven classified, eight are girls and three boys. The collective won the first seven places and four seconds.
San José de las Lajas took the largest number of tickets with six athletes in different specialties.
Joel GarcÃa, head of athletics at the "Ñico" Jiménez School of Sports Initiation Antonio, announced that the number of Mayabequenses to participate in the summer athletics event for schoolchildren could increase.
This is because some of the representatives who placed third in their respective qualifying events are candidates to receive wildcard, invitation card, for the marks obtained.
